Basil
and Kathryn Syssoloff are the proprietors and
managers of Rockannand Reg. Kennel (Registered
German Shepherd Dogs), which is located in
Silverdale, (near Silvermere Lake), British
Columbia, Canada. The estate is situated on 5
park-like acres in cottage country, amongst giant
red cedars, in an old growth rain forest surrounded
by water falls, streams, lakes and rivers.
Rockannand was 8-year-old Kathryn’s dream almost 50
years ago in Montreal, QC. While Kathryn had a love
for horsemanship and qualified later in life (1972),
from Crabbet Park Equitation Ltd, Surrey, England,
with a British Horse Society Instructor’s
certificate, the German Shepherd Dog was always a
constant in her life.

From Coronation Stables to Rockannand Kennels.
In 1987,
Rockannand became a registered kennel name with the
Canadian Kennel Club. And, in 1991, Kathryn retired
from business to become a full-time Manager of
Rockannand Kennels, where she bred, showed and sold
dogs.
For the
last 20 years, Rockannand has demonstrated its
commitment to the breed by belonging to national and
international breed clubs, as well as serving on the
provincial Board for several years as Vice President
and Secretary/Treasurer of the BC German Shepherd
Dog Club.
Rockannand is proud of its champion bloodlines with
pedigrees that honor many other wonderful kennels of
distinction. Through the years, its reputation for
support and assistance to clients has been second to
none. Their dogs are bred for temperament, health
and beauty.

Temperament being the primary focus, Rockannand
believes that without correct temperament, you do
not have a German Shepherd Dog.
* The
health of a Rockannand dog lies in careful selection
of its bloodlines. Many of Rockannand's German
Shepherd Dogs live well into their teens,
which indicates their longevity and excellent
health.
* The
overall beauty of Rockannand dogs is undeniable,
though it is not a goal in and of itself, but is
secondary to temperament and health. Beauty
alone is not enough for this breed. But without
beauty of type, according to the CKC standard, one
does not have an acceptable representative of the
breed.
